FAQ

  • What should I bring on the first day?
    • For your first class, wear comfortable workout clothing. I.E gym shorts, athletic shirt, and also bring a pair of flip flops for walking around when off the mat.
    • If you do not have a gi, we can supply you with a loaner gi
    • Bring water! 
  • Is previous experience necessary? 
    • No, it is not necessary all skill levels are welcome. If you have not trained before in any grappling sport, please email us first and we can schedule an orientation class for you. In the orientation class we will go over the basics and give you the tools for you to learn jiujitsu. 
  • What is Gi and No-Gi?
    • The Gi is the traditional uniform for jiu- jitsu, this allows for the use grips to control or subdue your opponent
    • No-Gi is without the traditional uniform and is just shorts and a rashguard (compression shirt) and you're not allowed to grab clothing in this ruleset. 
  • Do not wear shoes on the mat. When stepping off the mat be sure to wear a shoe of some sort like a flip flops/slides/sandals. We want to make sure no outside dirt touches the mat, to ensure that we have a clean and safe environment to train in.  
  • Are there contracts and sign up fees?
    • There are no contracts or sign up fees!
